What is Tooth Extraction?
Extraction is always the last resort. We assess every case for whether the tooth can be saved with a filling, root canal, or crown. Extraction is recommended only when the tooth is destroyed beyond restoration, the abscess cannot be resolved endodontically, mobility from periodontitis is severe, or orthodontic space is required. The focus here is the socket itself: how the tooth leaves the bone, how the clot forms, and how the socket heals. A socket that heals cleanly preserves bone for any future replacement and avoids dry socket (alveolar osteitis). The type of extraction, simple vs surgical, and whether socket preservation grafting is indicated are confirmed after imaging, before any treatment starts.
